PROJECT LITERACY
Paul Zuurbier gave us a great presentation on the important role Project Literacy plays in our community. In speaking with others after the meeting, it was obvious that most of us did not appreciate the breadth of the services they provide. Our club has been a long-time supporter of this organization and for that we are very proud!
NOW CANADA
Liz Talbot, Exec. Dir. at NOW Canada, was also on hand at this week's meeting to bring us up to date on the important work of her organization, and to receive a donation from the club to assist with purchasing gift cards for children's Christmas presents. Donations Committee Chair, Sheldon Paulger, surprised Liz with a second cheque, from President Bill personally, matching the club's donation!
