Happy Sunday fellow Rotarians:
Last week's speaker was Magda Kapp, Director of Prevention Services & Community Engagement from BrainTrust Canada - who highlighted the programs and services they provide for concussions and brain injury in education, prevention & support. Their GenZ Prevention Project is aimed at reducing preventable concussions/brain injury among youth in middle schools.
DGE Peter Schultz updated us on his recent trip to San Diego to participate in the International Assembly (training for District Governor elects). He also played an inspiring video on next year's Rotary theme of "Rotary Connects the World".
And one of our new members, Anahita Tajadod, gave her classification talk. What an interesting story of her growing up in 2 countries (Iran & Romania) and then settling in Canada.
Our guest speaker this week is Carmen Sparg, President of Kelowna Chamber of Commerce.
And our Vice-President, Lenetta Parry will be presenting the Major Project recommendation to the membership.
This is an ask from our Membership Director, Dale Briggs: let's all invite a guest (a friend, a colleague, a neighbor etc) to one of our meetings in February. A reminder that anyone who sponsors a new member will receive a beautiful, custom designed, hand crafted pin from District Governor Sherry Chamberlain. We currently have 95 members (89 active & 6 honorary) and we have 2 more applications coming in - so will be at 97. The member that sponsor's the 100th member to our will club will not just get the beautiful pin from DG Sherry but will also get a surprise gift from the President.
In service,
Raghwa
