Happy Sunday Rotarians;

I hope everyone's enjoying a spectacular weekend - what amazing weather we are having - hopefully, this great weather will continue for another few weeks!

Great News -  Our global grant application for funding to send a VTT to Ethiopia to establish a comprehensive burn and wound care management program in the Bahir Dar region - submitted by the Rotary Club of Addis Ababa-Bole and the Rotary Club of Kelowna, has been approved by The Rotary Foundation and the Rotary Foundation Canada. The award is in the amount of US$ 69,650.00. The VTT team leaves Nov 11.

Thank you to all that were able to make the club meeting last week. Helen Jackman of United Way talked about their new program called <Code>anagan - whereby they provide opportunities for disadvantaged youth in the tech sector. Please let me know if anyone is interested in receiving Helen's powerpoint presentation.

This week, we will get to hear Dr. James Crandell - he will be giving his classification talk - and our guest speaker will be Neil Smith from Habitat for Humanity.

A reminder that our Board Meeting will be this Thursday, Oct 18th, 4pm-6pm at Accelerate Okanagan.  Come see a Board Meeting first hand, consider joining the Board next year, help keep our Club the premier service club in Kelowna!

In service,
