Hello Fellow Rotarians:

Hope you all had a great hot weekend – and that no one was affected by the fires!

We had another great meeting last week – with Colin Pritchard’s classification talk (what an interesting story – could have listened to Colin for another hour) and a presentation from Drew Vincent of Okanagan Young Professionals Collective – on events and programs OYP runs to retain and attract young professionals to our region.

This week also saw the return of our outbound student – AJ Akachuck. We will get AJ to come to one of our meetings very soon to give us an update on his experience in Belgium.

This week saw our first Board meeting of the new Rotary Year.  Your 15 Directors are working very hard to keep us along an exciting path and direction.  The Board meetings are open to all club members - please consider joining us at least once this year, and more importantly, feel free to reach out to any Director any time to know more. Thanks to all who continue to step up and keep our Club as the very best Service Club in Kelowna.

One more great news this week – the ‘Rotary Satellite Club of Kelowna Now!’ has now been approved by Rotary International as an official club. Congratulations to DGE Peter Schultz and all the members of Rotary Satellite Club of Kelowna Now!.

This week’s guest speaker is Dr. Kyleen Myrah of Okanagan College. Dr. Myrah will be talking about ‘Journey Home’ – a project to end homelessness in our city.

Please invite a colleague or a friend out to enjoy this week’s luncheon – our speakers are most amazing and it will be a great session.

Thanks to all and look forward to seeing you Tuesday,

Raghwa
