Welcome to Sunday, Rotarians;

Great meeting last week - that was a great presentation by Randy Shier of the Mission Group. And congrats to Kevin Greenwood, Sheldon Paulger, Sarah Campbell and John Mulligan for being elected as the new Directors for the Rotary Club of Kelowna Foundation Board.

Congratulations to Mike Houston as well - as he was named as the Rotarian of the Month!

A very BIG 'thank you' to Carol Eamer and her team for placing the Field of Crosses at Stuart Park - great job!

This week's meeting is a very important one – one where we remember and honor our fallen - lest we forget!

We are planning a Remembrance Day Ceremony to coincide with the Remembrance Week ceremonies for the 100 year anniversary of the Armistice / End of World War I. We have arranged for a bagpiper (Archie) to lead a processional into the room – including an RCMP officer in red serge uniform, the President of the Legion (Jim White), speaker from the Legion( Bill Peckham) and others in uniform who will be seated at a reserved table.

Members should arrive a little earlier than usual so that they can be seated and ready to stand when the processional is piped into the room at 12:10pm.

Also if members would like to wear uniforms/medals, that would be wonderful.  Note that Sandy Ketler is handling the “Memories” aspect of the meeting where people are encouraged to share memories of relatives who may have served in the wars.

The speaker is going to be Mr Bill Peckham, Historian/Author.

Rotary After 5 is planned for Thursday November 8th at the Royal Canadian Legion at 5pm.

All the best, see you Tuesday,
