At last Tuesday’s Club meeting our feature presenter was Kevin Edgecombe, CEO of HER International. Kevin to be sure applied the qualities that made his own business successful to his philanthropic enterprise across the globe in Nepal. His international vision around goodwill and service to others improves the lives of all of us. Kevin’s presentation came full circle when he described how the women of Nepal, financially disadvantaged by our standards, are now making money to send to their counterparts in Canada.
In 1938 then RI President Maurice Duperry addressed the Rotary Convention in San Francisco, California he stated, Rotary is so simple that many people do not understand it, and some even misunderstand it. Rotary is not a philosophy... not an all embracing world point of view which answers every question...and satisfies all the dictates of the heart and mind. Rotary is merely an association of business and professional men and women in and idea of service. To this point, Kevin Edgecombe simply turned his vision into action and inspired us all.
